sorry for the huge pic. i'm a fan of detail.
i was watching Blue Planet: Seas of Life one night, and in it there was this awesome nautilus jetting around. i love nautili, so i thought to make a nautilus charm for myself. unfortunately, i'm so backed up with commissions that i put it away in the back of my mind. then a few days later, out of the blue, i get a commish from LunaticStar for a nautilus. w00t! i was a bit skeptical about the color combination at first, but i actually really like it. it's really subtle, so you can't really tell in the pic, but i sponge painted a thin coat of white over the light blue base coat on the shell, so that the spiral is a little more pronounced. and i sponge painted some pearly white over the orange tentacles to give him some slimy shine. the lighting was making the colors photograph a bit inconsistantly. the top photo has perfect color representation - on my monitor, at least. ;3 perhaps i'll make one for myself someday. mmm... smexy nautilus... naughty-lus. he's 1" tall x 1 1/2" long x 1/2" wide. buying info trade info p.s. gold star if you know what the title refers to. no, googling it doesn't count. |

it's actually the surface area of the Nautilus from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, as described by Captain Nemo. ;3
